Thanksgiving Wish

I meant to post this last night but fell asleep before I got it posted.

Anyway, on to the card...  I love the new Thanksgiving set from Crafty Secrets, so many cute images like these! And paired with some paper from Cosmo Crickets Nutmeg collection, perfect combination!

This stamp set has several images in it; I used three on this card.  Images colored in with Copic Markers.  This is one of the cards we will be making tomorrow night in my class at Scraptasia!

Warm Cocoa and Candy Canes...

aka: Cozy Moments!  That's the name of this new clear stamp set from Hero Arts - Cozy Moments. This is a great set to have; I got this at my LSS - Scraptasia and believe they still have a few sets left..  :)  

This is great for a quick gift; very easy to put together.  I got the little wood box at the craft store and mod podged the paper to the box, sanded and inked the edges (Antique Linen distress ink).  then filled with a few packs of cocoa mix and some chocolate dipped peppermint sticks.

Every stamp used on this project, the box and the tag, are from the Cozy Moments stamp set.  All Paper from the Jolly by Golly collection by Cosmo Cricket. Nestabilities were used to cut the oval labels and I used two different border punches - Apron Lace by Fiskars and this lace one (not sure of the name) from Martha Stewart.

Just a Note...

Hi everyone!  Mondays are rough but I can't complain too much; I am very thankful to have a good job.  And I have my creative crafty time to keep me sane!  lol!!

I was playing around with a photobooth app on my iPhone - you can take new pictures or use pics already on your phone to create photobooth strips; you can make them square, as I did here, or in the usual photobooth strip and change the frame to be white or black.    So now we'll see how the pic looks on my blog...   

These are a couple little notepads that I decorated and made a matching gift card.  I'm also going to make a matching note card set to complete the set.  Wanna see more??  :)

Sweet Treats

 

Hi again! Sorry for the bad picture but if I keep trying to get a better one I will never get this posted before Halloween!  These are from a recent Sweet Treats class I taught at Scraptasia.  

• The two purse like items in the back hold a little bag of treats.  The one on the left - paper from Doodlebug; stamps from Inkadinkadoo, Hero Arts and BoBunny.  The one on the right - paper from Cosmo Cricket; stamps from Inkadinkadoo and Memory Box.  Nestabilities used on both for the shapes and a little airbrushing with the Copic markers. 
• The box on the left is 3" square with a circle punched out in the front and a piece of acetate adhered to make a window.  Pattern paper from BoBunny; stamps from BoBunny and A Muse Art Stamps.
• The gift tag with the candy apple - stamps from A Muse Art Stamps
• Trick or Treat nugget box - this holds 5 Hershey Nuggets or has plenty of room for other little treats.  All stamps from Hero Arts; I LOVE this new background stamp (the orange stamped piece wrapped around the box).  Tag cut with Nestabilities.  Also used the Fiskar's Apron Lace border punch (one of my favorites).
• And the last item on the right - a quick bookmark that I adhered to the front of a kraft treat bag.  The little girl stamp is from a Crafty Secrets Halloween clear set, sentiment from Hero Arts.

Trick or Treat...

Hi there!  I know, I've been a very bad blogger the past few months, nothing to say other then life has been busy.  It's so hard to believe we are halfway through October already!  Although it feels more like winter this weekend then fall here in Jersey; too cold for me!  

I figured I had better take the time to get all the Halloween stuff posted before I get too far on the holiday goodies...  

I love the Eerie Halloween collection that Basic Grey came out with this year and what better to pair it with then a couple little Basic Grey stamps!  Sentiment stamps are from Crafty Secrets (Halloween Greetings) and Hero Arts (Trick or Treat).  I used a few different Nestabilities dies and my new Martha Stewart spider web border punch and colored them both with Copics.  (click the picture to see larger view).

 

And while I had the Eerie paper I out, I decorated this mini comp book with my scraps.  My grandkids will get a kick out of these; my two granddaughters LOVE paper - anything they can draw on, write on or cut up!!  No idea where they get that from...   ;)

The little Frankenstein stamp is a new mini Hero Art clear stamp; sentiment from Crafty Secrets clear set.

Quick card

Hi Everyone,

Time goes way too fast, I can't believe that we are more then halfway through September and it's been a month since my last post!!

I have lots of Halloween goodies to share, but heading out of town this weekend for a crafty escape, so won't get them posted until next week. Until then I will try another post from my phone and hope this picture looks ok..

This is an Anniversary card that I made for my youngest daughter; I know she loves these two colors so hoping she will love the card as well!

Pattern paper is K & Co, sentiment from Papertrey Ink, Ribbon is May Arts I think and I used my one of my new fancy labels dies from Spellbinders! Very simple yet elegant!

"Cute" and "Spunky" Window Box

These pictures still are not great but I'm posting anyway... 

This is a Window Box from Melissa Frances that has a little shadow box that you can decorate and attached inside the lid.  It's about a 7" square box, not exactly but pretty close.  I had ordered these back in March, along with the new Melissa Frances Fresh Twist papers, for a class I was teaching the end of April at Scraptasia, unfortunately they were back ordered and did not show up in time so we made this tin instead with the Fresh Twist papers.   The window boxes finally arrived in July and I used them in a class last week with some beautiful Bo Bunny papers from the Alissa collection.  The pattern paper I used for the top of the box is called "Cute" and the paper on the sides is "Spunky"; hence the title of my post..  All the papers in this collection are just gorgeous!

And how perfect does the Bo Bunny Double Dot paper go with it?!?  And the black ribbon (May Arts) really sets it all off!!  

The floral piece and the glitter letter used in the shadow box are both from Melissa Frances.  

Normally I would have made bigger cards to go in this box, since it is a big box, but class is only two hours long and so I had to make the cards quick.  I made a small set of monogram note cards (3.5 x 5") to go inside.  The cards in this pic are not finished as I have not put the monogram on them yet.  The monogram (Large Polka Dot set) alphabet set I used, and the note sentiment is by A Muse Art Stamps.

Trick or Treat...

I had this great project that I was going to post today but decided to post this card I made today instead.  

Those of you that know me, know that I am not a big sticker person and I love my stamps and getting inky, right?!?   Well, I used a lot of stickers on this card; however, if you could see this in person and know the work that went into it, it makes up for using the stickers!  And most of the stickers don't look like stickers. (Someone should make a stamp out of this guy or a Cricut cartridge around the movie would be pretty cool too, you never know...)  This set, Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, is from EK Success.

Anyway, I bought these stickers last weekend to make a card for my grandson (he's 12); thought he would get a kick out of it.  Then, today while I was at the shop, I was playing with some new Glimmer Mists from Tattered Angels and one thing led to another and this card is what I ended up with.  Unfortunately, you cannot see the shimmer in the picture nor the little detail on the ribbon. :(   

 Would you be surprised if I told you that the pattern paper I used on this card came from the Fashionista Line from Graphic 45 and the Attic Treasures Line from Melissa Frances?!? You would have never guessed huh?!?  

I started with a Raven black Bazzill cardstock for my base (finished card is 4 x 9"), then the first layer was a piece of cream cardstock that I glimmer misted with one of the new colors "Haunted Shadows". 

The next layer is the Graphic 45 paper, (Tre Chic), which I inked up a bit more with Ranger Distress Ink in Brushed Corduroy (I know, you're in shock I didn't use Antique Linen aren't you?)  :) 

And the final layer, which took the most work...   I used some mini graph like paper from the Attic Treasures collection from Melissa Frances, then sprayed some Jack O' Lantern Glimmer Mist on to my non stick craft mat (by Ranger) and mopped it up with my pattern paper.  You ought to see the shimmer on this, so cool!  But that's not all... :) After the paper dried, I stamped lightly all over (stamped off first and then on to my paper) using a flourish stamp from a Tim Holtz Stamper's Anonymous set, using Sweet Plum Memento ink and also stamped a moon in the same color and inked around the edges of the paper too.  

I used black silk ribbon, and what you can't see in the pic is that there are two layers of ribbon, the top one has a knot in the middle and I swiped it with a little of the Haunted Shadows glimmer mist which left gold specs on it; just a few.  The spider web border under the ribbon is a new Martha Stewart punch I got last weekend - love this, and there is a spider web corner punch too!  (for Scraptasia customers - Dawn is going to see if she can order some for the store!).  The Trick or Treat stamp is from Rubber Soul and the Happy Halloween stamp (inside card) is from Savvy Stamps.  All the rest are stickers from the set I bought.  So that's my card for today.

Workin' 9 - 5...

So I can stamp 24-7!!!! I LOVE this saying!! Trying another post
from my phone so I'll keep this short...

This is a quick card I made yesterday using a new stamp set from My
Favorite Things (who's that Digital Girl) and paper from the Cosmo
Cricket Girl Friday collection.

I really wanted to sew on this but did not have my machine handy so
will just have to make another one! :)

A Little Play Time...

I know, I'm behind on posts again.. When I get home tonight I am going
to sit down and do type up my posts for the week so they are ready to
go. In the meantime, going to try this quick little post from my
phone...

Last week I had the pleasure of teaching a mixed media collage class
at Scraptasia - we had a blast!!! Something about sitting down with a
blank canvas, some paint and other odds n' ends with no real rules...
so very relaxing, and therapeutic too!! For me it is anyway, I can
just get lost in the paints and layers of color for hours.

Everyone in class, even those that were a little apprehensive, had a
great time so it looks like we might be doing this one again!

Another reason I am loving this exploration is that it is pushing me
out of my little perfectionist box a little more each time... Not
everything has to be perfect, or make sense, as long as you are
enjoying the process and it makes you happy.

Ok, so on to my pic... This is a little 4x4 canvas that I picked up
at Michael's for a buck! It was in the kids section and had an image
stamped on it that I just Gesso'd over and had a fresh canvas to play
with! These little canvases are great for practice and play. The
paints I used are from Claudine Helmuth's Studio Line by Ranger; I
LOVE these paints!
